First clarinet of the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo in Palermo since 2019 Giovanni Punzi has held the role of soloist at the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra for over 4 years. He graduated at a very young age with honors and mention at the Conservatory of Salerno and was subsequently admitted to the Perosi Academy of Biella in the class of Thomas Friedli and subsequently to the Italian Flute Academy with Calogero Palermo and to the Accademia Nazionale d Santa Cecilia with Alessandro Carbonare. In 2011 he was admitted to the National Superior Conservatory of Music in Paris where he specialized with Philippe Berrod. Giovanni Punzi is currently one of the most awarded clarinetists in the world in recent years, having established himself in the most important international clarinet competitions. He has held the role of First Clarinet for notable musical institutions including the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, the Denmark National Radio Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro alla Scala, Les Dissonances in Paris. Giovanni Punzi regularly holds Master Classes in Italy and abroad.
